Good Luck, you are very brave. My sister is also just starting to do the same thing and has put it on facebook! She has just bought herself a new cook book to help her on the way, I am now a great believer in just eating healthily with sensible proportions, that way you are not trying to do anything too extreme and can keep it up better. Just wondering if you have a weight target, you didn't mention your height. Sorry don't mean to be nosey!
best of luck Zena x.
ps brill. to have a diff. blog on here not R.A. related!!!!

Hey

I am 5ft 6in and I'm not really sure what my target weight is. I guess I'm just concentrating on getting my BMI below 25 first and then I will go from there.

Also, I'm not really follow a specific diet, just being sensible.

Good Luck Amy

Your target weight, is whatever you feel comfortable with. Not what the scales say or any weight chart, everyone is different. Many years ago when Slimming World use to give you a target weight I was told that because I was 5'4'' my target weight was 9stone 1lb. I was a bit shocked, if I go under ten stone I look anorexic, very gaunt looking in my face. The lady turned to me and said.....I'm the same height as you and I'm 9st. 1lb, I asked her what size shoe she took...4 was her answer...........well, I take a size 7, I replied, doesn't that tell you anything................she told me I would loose weight of my feet!!!!!

Healthy eating is really the best way to do it, take your time, do the scenic route, not the motorway to get where you want to be. Nice and easy does it.

Looking forward to reading about your journey to the new YOU!!!!!!

Remember......little pickers, wear bigger knickers.........a minute on your lips, a lifetime on your hips......food is better wasted in your bin....... than being on your waist!!!!!

Good Luck

Good luck with the diet. I've been trying to lose a few pounds too. I've been losing 1 lb a week. The Mtx has put me off food so I feel like I'm cheating. Best wishes. I really hope it goes well. Your joints will benefit and you'll feel better too. X

Naomi...your not cheating at all.

When I read the symptoms of RA one was weight loss, the only one I would of liked and sods law, didn't get.

I remember when the consultant was writing my prescription I asked him to give me something that would make me lose about a stone. I remember him smiling, me thinking he thought it was amusing, I now realise that he was probably thinking due to the side affects of the drugs Don't wish for something too much, because you might get it and then not want it.

I've never had any nauseas feeling due to the meds, but on a few occasions for other reason I have and it's not nice at all. I wouldn't really want it for a weight losing method.

Hope your are feeling well Naomi, I see you are becoming a bit of a night owl with the times of your posts!

Going to read the blog and put it in my favorites.

Good luck from me too.

I have also started to try and lose some weight. My daughter got married on May 26th and i looked so big in the photo's that it has upset me enough to finally say to myself i need to do this now. I am a lot bigger than you and i am going to take a step at a time as i can't think about losing so many stones.

Well done and good luck. Just caught up on this post as I have been on holiday.

I wish my 'stats' were yours acutually. I am only 5' 2 and a bit , so when I put
weight on I look as round as I do high and look like a russian doll - ha ha
I do need to lose some as since last year I have gone up a dress size.

Good luck

Thanks for all the support guys BigGrin

I did my 3rd workout on a fitness game called Active 2 (on the Nintendo Wii console) today and I am really enjoying it (even if it is hard work).

I feel really positive about getting healthy now and all your support really helps Smile

Love Amy
